Let’s get organized

Been thinking about what, how and where to put everything when we get a new place for my craft room. Where is the best place to look? PINTEREST, of course. Lets see what I found.

Organized photos on cds in jewel cases

This came from Real Simple.

I really do like this one for storing digital photography. I already have them copied so this step would be easy peasy…

I was excited to see this one because I have an old dresser in the barn I am going to do this with.  Just don’t know what I will store in it yet. Just think about all the old furniture you have seen along the streets that can be recycled for other uses.

I was exstatic when I came across Andrea site Bubblewrapped and they give the tutorial for this space saving table. GENIOUS.

OF COURSE, who wouldn’t want one of these sewing boxes from the Original Scrapbox. I am in hopes I can get my husband to make me one of these along with the above space saver table…

Who doesn’t need sharpies…….I LOVE how these are organized and easy to get to. I don’t know who the original poster of this is but if anyone knows please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. It looks like they are stuck on the board with Velcro.

I am always on the look out for furniture that can be re purposed. How about this old armoire I will definitely get one of these. I came across this over at Better Homes and Gardens.

Love those tutorial finds

Are these not the cutest???? I think I will make a couple of these for my granddaughters.

I found these over at Craft Passion.  Just click on the link  for a detailed tutorial of this mini coin purse.

While you are there check out some of their other great tutorials.

Thread storage

I know, I know, I have been absent for way to long. As you all know how life can throw you curves…welllllll….not really a curve but we have been starting the new chapter in our lives and working for my son and  his partner with their business. It has taken a bit to get back in to the swing of things and learning how to juggle working, sewing, grand-kids, friends, working, blogging, sewing, grand-kids, working…lolol.

I do hope your summer has been a great one and you are looking forward to fall. I know we are glad the 114 day highs are hopefully gone and the 80′s are on the way.

With leaving the motorhome life and going back to living in a house I am getting ideas for a full sewing/craft room. Thread storage gives me fits so I thought I would do a search to see what I could discover. Here are a few ideas, what is your favorite storage idea?

Hot wheel car storage containers, couldn’t find a picture of the one that holds 48 but I think they are under $5 at Walmart.

This would make a great unit for thread storage. I found it on Amazon.

6 Drawer Cart

This is a great buy at Thread Art. The regular price is $24.99 but when I found it, it was on sale for $19.99. I think I am ordering one of these. This will hold 120 spools. Another idea is take a straw and cut it in 1/2 and put on the dowels to place your thread and your bobbin that matches….

This is a very nice moveable storage unit over on Flickr, but you will have to click on the link. What I like about this one is she found it at Goodwill, I love when people re purpose things.

For even more ideas check out Sew Many Ways. She has quite a few great ideas.
